Nazarene District
Larry's Corner

Dear Nebraska Nazarenes,

Sixteen pastors and staff, along with Linda and I, enjoyed God's blessings at the Holiness Summit in Olathe.  It was a tremendous time of learning and inspiration.  We attended five to six sessions each day, three of those being holiness sermons, two biblical expositions (Old Testament and New Testament) on holiness passages, and one discussion time on a particular holiness passage.  The line-up of preachers included Dr. J. K. Warrick, General Superintendent, Dr. Ron Benefiel, NTS president, Dr. Roger Hahn, seminary New Testament professor (and a Nebraska native), Rev. David Busick, pastor of Bethany, OK, First Church (also a Nebraska native), Dr. Jim Bond, General Superintendent Emeritus, Dr. Ed Robinson, MNU president (anointed preaching), Dr. Tim Green, Old Testament professor and chaplain at Trevecca, Rev. Carla Sunberg, former missionary and co-pastor from Fort Wayne, IN, and Dr. Sam Vassal, pastor of Bronx Bethel Church of the Nazarene.  When Dr. Vassal finished his sermon, there was holy silence and a great altar response.

The fellowship enjoyed by everyone attending was very special.  Most of our group were treated to a tour of the new Global Ministry Center (HQ).  Thanks to all the churches that provided for your pastor and spouse to attend!

We want to welcome Pastor Stephen and Cheryl Floyd who have come from northern Wisconsin to pastor our Falls City Church.  God has blessed the Falls City Church and our district with a wonderful godly pastoral couple who were installed Sunday morning, October 11.  It was a blessed time with them and the church folk.

Stay tuned for the next installment of Nebraska District news!

Keep Looking Up,

Larry W. White
