Rev. John Whitsett

Dr. John Whitsett serves as District Secretary alongside his responsibilities as pastor of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene in Hastings.  A graduate of Southern Nazarene University, he also holds a Master’s Degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.

With over three decades of ministry service to the Church of the Nazarene, John has pastored churches in Texas, California, North Carolina, and Oklahoma previous to his current assignment in Nebraska.

He and his wife Angie, who is a fifth-grade school teacher in Grand Island, are the parents of two married young adult sons—Kevin and wife Courtney live in Nashville, and Collin and wife Sarah live in Pittsburgh.

In his spare time, John enjoys reading as well as following the professional sports teams from the Kansas City area where he was raised (Royals and Chiefs).

Melissa Rostvet

Melissa is our District Treasurer; as well as, the treasurer for the District's NYI and SDMI.  She and her husband farm south of Hastings and have 3 children.  Melissa attends Lakeside Community Church in Hastings, Nebraska.

Rev. Cliff Transmeier

Cliff Transmeier moved to Nebraska after his Freshman year in high school and though he may have lived in other states from time to time, Nebraska is his home.  He was powerfully saved October 30, 1983 and entirely sanctified May 1984.  He was married to Julie Cheney of Oshkosh, NE June 22,1985 and has 2 grown sons he loves very much. 

In 1987, Cliff felt the need for more intensive biblical training and attended Northwest Nazarene College from January 1988 to March 1990.  There he received a call to preach.  He has been the pastor of churches in South Dakota and Nebraska and is now the pastor of New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene in Scottsbluff.  He has had the privilege of being the NMI President since 2009.

Rev. Trent Johnson

Pastor Trent Johnson has lived in the Midwest region his entire life. After growing up in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Iowa he attended MidAmerica Nazarene University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry. Most importantly, though, MNU is where he met the love of his life, Bethany (Gooden) Johnson (from Lincoln, NE). After they both graduated from MNU, they lived in Olathe, Kansas while Trent attended Nazarene Theological Seminary, working on his Masters Degree in Christian Education. Pastor Trent came to Omaha Central in May, 2010. He currently serves as Youth Pastor and serves in other capacities such as, pastoral care and small groups. Trent and Bethany's family will be expanding in September 2012 with the birth of their first child.
